Managing blood pressure can be challenging. It is more than just decreasing added salt intake and taking your medications everyday. It includes understanding what is in your food that could be contributing to spikes in blood pressure. Once you embrace a healthier lifestyle with the help of a plant-based diet plan, you may find that you no longer need your medications. Once this happens, we can slowly taper them until it is safe to completely come off. This requires you, my patient, to be very diligent with checking your blood pressures, keeping a log, and bringing the log with you to every clinic visit.
